Final Status Report (Week 14)

This week the team worked on finishing up our Architecture Design document, and preparing our final presentation. Total time - 14 hours.

Plans for next week are to give our final presentation on our reddit Meetup App project. Estimated time 5 - 10 minutes for each team member.

We ran into no issues this final week, and the project has come together nicely.

Week 13 Status

This week the majority of the architecture design document was finished (last view done). Also some updates to the document design were completed. Total time spent was 9 hours.

Remaining work is to sync the views together better and fix up the design patterns and tactics we used in creating the various design choices. Also updating the rest of the document to ensure everything matches up correctly. Also the requested glossary needs to be finished in this next week and the presentation created and practiced for in class delivery. Total estimated work for this 12 hours spent by the entire team who will be working on this.

There are no current issues being faced by the project team.

Week 12 Status

The team meet to plan out changes to match up our two existing views and plan the third view. Updates were planned for the quality attributes and they were prioritized. The tree for Monday's assessment was discussed and started. This work was done as a team. Total time spent was 5 hours.

The plan for next week is to finish the architecture design by Friday and meet as a team to review the design one last time for consistency and prepare our presentation. This will involve work by the whole team. Estimated time is 10 hours total.

There are currently no problems with project completion.

Week 11 Status Report

The entire group worked on producing the rough draft of the reddit Meetup App Software Architecture Design document. Total time spent this week 12 hours.

The plan for next week is to review peer feedback and make desired changes and to finish remaining view model. We also want to revise some of the sections in the document currently to match the added design choices. Total estimated time is 10 hours.

Potential issues for the team currently is some of the team members have other huge projects coming due so may not have as much time for this project over the next couple of weeks.

Week 10 Status

We held a meeting to discuss all the details of the new features so design would be consistent. We also updated old documents to include the new features and began big picture design plans. This was done by the whole group. Total time spent about 4 hours.

Plans for next week is to get a draft level of the architecture document completed. Each group member has a part and we will meet to integrate together. Estimated time is 8 hours.

No current problems are accruing this week.

Week 9 Status

Back from spring break.

The team meet and broke up work for this next portion of the project.

Time spent was 3 hours by the team members Karen, Ziyi, and Randy going over everything needed in a deliverable for the next submission.

The plan for next week is having beginning level overview done to lay the groundwork for future parts of the project. Total estimated time is 8 hours.

Current problem we had is all team members were not able to make the meeting so some design choices needed to be delayed for a future meeting.

Week 8 Status

Currently we are planning a final review of the SRS to add two new features to reddit Meetup App. These features are Meetup Chats and Sponsor Ads!

For this week the project plan was updated to reflect the new portion of the project we are starting. Time spent .5 hours. This was completed by Towhid. The of the group had a mini email meeting to discuss adding the new features and all agreed on that plan.

The plan for next week is to enjoy a nice Spring break.

The following week (week 9) the team will meet and flesh out some details for the new features and assign tasks for the start of the Architecture design start. Estimated time 1-2 hours.

Currently there are no pending issues with the project.

Week 7 Status Report

This week: recheck and make sure each teammate's assignment. We didn't have a meeting on this week, since we can save our time for our final SRS. Also, we summary and talk about our grad of Draft SRS, make sure what we lack on that document, fix and improve them on the final SRS. For next week: After finish the final SRS,  we will move to the architecture part. So, we will review the point for architecture before the next meeting.

Week 6 Status

This week we: Worked on presentation development - Randy, Ziyi, Karen total time 1 hour in meeting - Finished filling in individually total time 2 hours, entire group Broke up rework tasks and remaining tasks in SRS - Randy, Ziyi, Karen total time 30 minutes Note: This was a very full week with career fair prep and interviews for team members so tasks were assigned and started, but not directly finished other than presentation preparation. Plans for next week: Finish Final draft of SRS document - full group, estimated time 5 to 6 hours Give Presentation - full group, estimated time 10 minutes We currently are having Team Meeting attendance issues where members are not showing up or notifying the group they can't make it. All team members are still performing work and effort on the project. New plans for more open communication are being worked on to keep everyone informed of group decisions.

Week 5 Status Report

Team meet and assigned tasks on SRS draft. Also reviewed SRS draft for team and sponsor agreement. Total time spent 8 hours across the entire team. Plans for next week continue refinement of SRS document and send copy to sponsor for final verification. Time estimated to spend on this is 12 hours. Tasks will be done by entire team. Issues that occurred: team member illness pushed timeline back by a few days so the end time was crunched.

Week 4 Status Report

Due to travel issues for some members of the team it was decided to focus this week on individual assignments. Team meeting was canceled for Friday 2/20/15. Plan for next week is to complete draft version of the SRS. The entire team will work on it. Estimated time 8 hours total (2 hours each team member). Potential problems - Half our group was not able to make it to the meeting due to weather related issues.

Week 2 - Status Report

This week we worked on choosing our project and roles, and team formation. Created the team blog and began working on requirements gathering. The entire group worked on these tasks together and time spent was about 2 hours for each of us. Plans for next week work on Vision and Scope document and review new requirements checking for any points where we need clarification. This will be worked on by the entire team. Estimated time is between 3 to 4 hours for each of us. Potential problems: Our sponsor is in a different time zone so communication timing maybe difficult or responses maybe delayed.

Project Synopsis

Description:

The site reddit.com is well known for having sub-communities that engage in an activity known as a “meetup”. A meetup is a gathering of users from various sub-communities to gather, get to know each other, and generally interact outside of the virtual space that reddit provides. Our goal is to design an application that will assist users in organizing these meetups, diligently and responsibly handle personal information, and allow users a means of documenting and sharing their experiences.

Motivation:
reddit is accessed by more than 170 million unique users each month. The potential exposure of this project is millions, and it serves a function to vastly improve the experience of various users during a routine activity that the site enables.
